Sons of Anarchy

While we are waiting....

We all had some time to get over this bloody and shocking season 6 finale of "Sons of Anarchy"....ok, who am I kidding?! I´m still mourning Taras death and can not get over the fact that her monster ehm sorry mother-in-law killed her!!!
For most of the fans the time until September is a very painful one and so I decided to start speculating a little bit and fill you in about the things we know so far. Also I will throw in some observations and questions and mayyyybe we can start a little discussion here to fill this need for season 7 of SOA :) Okay here it goes:

I am pretty sure I do not need to stress that I want justice for Taras death in some way....she was a inherent part of the story and of Jax´ life. Not only are Thomas and Abel going to grow up without a mother, but the possibility for them to become men in the environment of the MC is very high. It´s the one thing that both, Tara and Jax did not want for them.....but what other choice is there? If I remember correctly Tara set up a will in the beginning of the last season (well knowing, that IF her plan fails, she would not survive!)......and in this will it´s clearly said, that Wendy will be the legal guardian of the boys. Thinking of that it makes total sense now, that Gemma would help Wendy to get clean: She knows, that the girl is afraid of her and somewhat depends on her to help her trough this new found mother role.

It´s something completely new to her and for an ex junkie this must be extremely difficult! So "angel" Gemma can rush to her side and help her with the boys...but in order to do that, they´ll all have to stay in Charming: So it´s a win-win for Gem! I will not go on a hate rage about how unfair this is.....but I just want to let you know that I´m SOOO close to it! ;)
So the boys future seems to be pretty much screwed, right?! Let´s see what the future could hold for the other disappointment of the season 6 finale: Juice!

There is NO way that Jax will not ask him at some point of season 7, if he ever found Gemma/ Gemma in Unsers truck! And keeping his mental state in mind it´s very clear, that Juice either gives his suicide attempts another try (I think this would be number 3, right?!) and succeeds; or he´ll just lie to him. But knowing, that stuff like this always comes out one way or another it really looks BAAAD for Juicie boy!!!

Talking of Unser; here is what I think could happen in some of the early episodes of S7: I am almost certain, that Jax will ask him, why exactly Gemma would take his truck and just drive of.....he then will tell Jax, that he told her about the deal...and let´s just hope, that he starts to suspect something;) Unser himself is not yet aware of what his lovely biker queen did, but trust me, he´ll be the first to figure it out! And he will add "mental pain" to his cancer list; knowing that partly he is responsible for Tara´s death!

Let´s step away from the murder for a second and talk about the club and what challenges they will have to face next season:

Kurt Sutter already let us know in the SOA aftershow that aired right after the S6 finale, that season 7 will pick up just like the last one did; a few weeks into the future! In other interviews he stated, that Jax will probably be in prison and will be in some kind of interview with the DA, who at least thinks he killed Eli (okay, we all know we don´t have to worry about him going to prison, because his gun was just found next to the dead cop, but forensics will show, that it was never fired!). So with the ex president in prison it leaves us with Bobby as the MC pres and Chibs as his VP. And given the dynamics of the club we all know this can not be good. Clearly Chibs thought he would be pres; judging from the look on his face in the finale, but he held back because he knew Jax was already mentally curled up on the floor, beating himself up over the decisions he had made that day!
The two (Bobby and Chibs) have no idea what is coming....Nero working with Alvarez and the Chinese, this will definitely stir up a lot of trouble!! The Niners are seeking revenge for the fatalities that they had to face in "A Mothers Work"; keep in mind that at that point Nero was still affiliated with SAMCRO. I think the revenge will not only go towards Alvarez himself, but the Sons will get hit too. Poor Charming is in for a war!! And knowing, that the DA will leave at some point in the early episodes of season 7 this could only mean that the FBI comes back (Sutter already stated, that there will be no new sheriff in town next season). Also Kurt Sutter let the fans know, that there will be some kind of a "new form" of law enforcement, that we did not have had before. We had the sheriff, the undercover FBI agents, the DA....what else is there to come?! A military operation??!! ;)
Speaking of who could come back...here are my thoughts of which familiar faces we could see in the last Sons of Anarchy Season:

- I have a feeling, that the FBI guys will be back
- robocop has to come back.....first of all there is still the possibility, that he will rat out Jax for murdering Vernus´mum and also now that Nero is gone all "bad gang daddy" you can be sure that there will be some Diosa Norte beef coming up
- Brooke has to come back; I mean there is NO way Sutter would write in such an mysterious character just like that.....I have a feeling she will play kind of a big role in the last season!
- I knooooow that her story line is kind of wrapped up now, but I would love to see Venus back in Charming (and believe me Tig would be veeerry happy, too ;) )

All we know so far is, that Wendy will be a main character in season 7 and someone, who had a cameo in season 6 will be back in Charming.....that might be Brooke....but honestly, I have no idea! An other thing we already know is (and forgive me while I dance my "happy-dance") that Collette will only be in a few episodes of S7. Okay that still leaves some "alone time" with Jax, but at least there is a good chance she won´t screw around with him for too long ;)

Either way this last season will be a time for us to say goodbye to Charming and our beloved MC.....it will not suck less though!! For almost 7 years we have gone through all kinds of shit with this club and we all changed from kind of normal tv viewers to a SAMCRO member for 60 or more minutes every Tuesday. We got sucked into this wild ride and since then we never looked at a bike or a local MC without thinking of the Sons ;) The fans celebrated with the cast, when Katey Sagal won her Golden Globe in 2011 and we cried when we lost Opie, Tara and many more.....The show became our own club and a lot of us have met great people because of that! The fandom is unlike any other and so is the show itself! It´s very rare these days, that you are surprised and mindf**d after every single episode of a show....and the genius, that's called Kurt Sutter made it happen EVERY SINGLE TIME! We all love and hate him for that at the same time, right? This is not going to be one of these...."omg I don´t know how to live without this show" kind of post; it´s more of a big fat "THANK YOU" to a staff (and by that I mean literally everyone...make-up, camera, catering,writers,......) and a cast that brings us their A-game once a week. It´s truly a pleasure to watch them do their thing, because you can see, that they too became a part of this MC world and even though it´s fictional, you kind of have the feeling, that they would feel pretty good if they would actually live there ;) ( okay, maybe minus the guns, the drugs and all the other illegal stuff :D).
As we can expect a lot of dead SOA members next season I am very sure, that there will be a lot of post dealing with their back stories and a "ode"-like paragraph like the one I did for Maggie....but let´s deal with that when the time comes, okay?

One way or an other I think the series will end with some kind of a connection to John Teller...the show started with him in the center and as the "good ghost", that guided Jax and in my opinion this is the way it should end. I do not necessarily mean that Jax has to find out about Gemmas involvement in his fathers death, but I think the guidance of his father will help him get trough season 7.

So before we get TOO nostalgic let me hear your predictions about season 7....what do you want to see next season and what themes will be back to haunt us in the final episodes of our beloved show?

Let´s hear it folks! Let´s talk tv!

Expect the unexpected! S7-Sons of Anarchy

I know there are 9 very long months still ahead of us but after I red this on tv-line.com I needed to devote this first blog post of 2014 the craziness that´s called "Sons of Anarchy"!

Let´s recap the tragedy that was 6x13 "A Mothers Work":

- Jax finds Tara and the kids at a park
- he tells his estranged wife, that he will not hurt her and that she is free to leave with the kids
- later Jax sacrifices himself for the club (he tells the DA, that he will turn himself in! He alone will be charged for the KG-9 disaster that happened earlier this season)
- meanwhile the heat on the weapon market is rising.....Nero and Alvarez seem to intervene Jax´s plan on handing over the business to Marks
- before turning himself in Jax hands the gavel to BOBBY (big surprise on my part.....I thought he trusted Chibs enough to make him president)
- Jax says one heartbreaking goodbye that viewers will have in the back of their heads forever, it was a very very very emotional scene!
- speaking of emotions: we all where shocked, when a smiling Tara returned home, thinking she got everything she wanted. Little did she know that her high and drunk monster....ehhm I mean mother in law was waiting for her in the kitchen. Jax´s wife is brutally murdered by his own mother...
- not bad enough? Well a few minutes later Kurt Sutter pulls the rug from under us: Jax enters the house, looking for his wife (as a write this, the way he said "babe?!" is very present :( )...he walks into the kitchen and finds his dead wife and Eli (who got shot by Juice). The next minutes are the most emotional ones I have ever seen on tv. The fans could feel every emotion, that the character was feeling!

So whats next? How will the last season start of? Will Jax go to jail or will he not turn himself in now that Tara is dead? And if he will go to jail, will there be some problems between Bobby and Chibs? What will happen to Juice? And most importantly:
What will happen to Gemma?!?!

Here is what I want to happen: I want Jax to find out.....not right away but lets say around mid-season and then I want him to not murder her right away: You red correctly......I want Gemma to suffer psychical pain first. No idea how he´ll do it but I´m sure Jax can think of something! How about Clay comes back from the dead and kills her himself ?! ;)
But like the tv-line.com caption says: "Once Jax learns..."....that means that he has to find out. But maybe that is to obvious for Mr. Sutter.

Between what I want, what all the other SOA fans want to happen and what Kurt Sutter will make happen lies a whole 9 months of wishing and thinking!

So get your cuts on guys and get ready to a hell of a ride!

What are your S7 predictions?

"A Mothers Work" - Sons of Anarchy Season 6 finale

Where do you even start after such a blood filled season of "Sons of Anarchy"? Well, let´s start by warning everyone who has not watched the finale yet....do NOT read on if you don´t want to know what happened! This is your official SPOILER ALERT!!

And now I´ll give you a summary of "A Mother´s Work" and after you read what happened in the last few scenes, you will know whats coming!

Okay, so just a quick reminder where we stand right now: At the end of 6x12 Tara took Abel and Thomas and it seemed that she was really ready to rat. After little Abel asks his mum if his dad is going to be at the place where they are going, she thankfully changes her mind. But with the DA waiting for her and Jax finding out that his kids are gone, no one really knows whats next for Tara Knowles......

"A Mothers Work" starts off at the cemetery and as weird as this sounds, this is the place where I was sure Jax would be! With his best friend Opie, at a time of his life, where he really needs his best friend.

We hear a voice over by Jax as he writes in his diary. After he lost his way this season it was kind of comforting seeing him taking his time to reflect on things and trying to explain something to his sons. We haven´t seen him with his diary in a long time, so that´s a good sign right?!

"There are lessons to be found here, but mostly I do this so u can know me. Lately as I write these I realize they are as much for me as they are for you. This is one place I can be completely open. The pen and paper has no judgement, no vote. It simply receives my truth and allows me to turn the page, and today, this is my truth. I am terrified a great deal of the time. I'm afraid of what I've done, of what I'm doing and what i might have to do. It's not a crippling fear, in fact it's just the opposite. I thrive on it, I crave it. I need that rush of terror to get me out of bed in the morning. It's in my DNA. I have tremendous remorse for the acts of violence I've committed, both planned and spontaneous. But I think what brings me the most sorrow is that I've learned to justify this behavior. I always find a reason, a cause, a need. That allows me the karmic lubrication to stuff my guilt into a savage compartment. I've become the thing, the one I hated. And with that awareness comes periods of days, sometimes weeks when I have to avoid looking into a mirror. My self hate is so deep, so palpable. I fear I'll lunge at my own image, shatter the glass and cut myself with shards of broken reflection. Since my best friend was killed, I've lost my center. Ope was always my pullback to true north. Now my doubt and sense of fraudulence barks so loudly in my heads that most of the time I can't hear anything else. Love can route to freedom. All the things I want from this life are lost in the den. Forgive my indulgence sons, but today may be a day we both remember. A defining day. And i want you to look back at this entry and know at the very least your father was completely honest. So you know I speak the truth when I tell you, you are the most important thing to me. I will never hurt you, never abandon you. I love you Abel, I love you Thomas, more than anything or anyone. I always will. Everything I do is for my sons"
Well not exactly....after the usual 5 minute montage where nothing really happens we see a white dove on the road....and every SOA fan knows that this can only mean trouble....especially after this dove is being run over by Jax;) So the next thing that we find out is, that the DA still does not have any idea, where Tara is.....a very good sign, because this means if they don't know where she is, they can´t arrest her!!
Let´s see what the MC is up to in their little "candy shop"....after a quick and kind of weird talk between Gemma and Juice the DA shows up and wants to talk to Jax. The two sit down and one of the best speeches ever on the show is delivered by Mrs. Patterson:

Are you willing to letting your family pay the price for your mistakes?
It´s gonna destroy you and everything you love.

You are a husband and a father and a man before all of this. Own your place.

I don't know about you guys, but I thought that these words really got to Jax, because he kind of heard them before.......from his father! At least I thought they did.....a few minutes later, when the club was at the table I wasn´t to sure anymore.....Jax got the MC up to speed with everything going on with his wife and they decide to find her. Tig:"To convince her that the club depends on her." and Jax replies:"To convince her not to rat!" which seems way more important for him then letting his wife know that she is needed. And when Juice asks the kind of obvious question: "And if we can´t?" his president gives the worst answer he could have given:"Then we do what we have to do." Wow, would Jax really hurt the woman he loves? The mother of his children? The tension is rising at this point!
The meeting is interrupted when Alvarez shows up and wants to talk to Jax. He fills him in about his plans on opening chapters in Stockton and that Nero is fine with all of this, actually he wants him to be there when he meets with August. To say that Jax is surprised would be the understatement of the year;)
So let´s see what Tara is up to: She is still at the Hotel with the kids and steps outside for a minute to call.....her lawyer! Tara wants him to check the deal and see if she would get everything she wants, they agree on meeting up later that day. Wow, will Tara really rat? Would she do this to Jax and the club??

Well it sure seems that way...when she goes back into the hotel room she has the "everything will change and I need you to be strong" talk with Abel....who does the cutest thing ever after Tara tells him, that she thinks that his brother is a little scared: He jumps on the bed to his brothers side, says "Hi stinky monkey" and "honks" Thomas´nose:)
Back in Charming the SONS, the MAYANS and August Marks are supposed to meet up...it turns out, that August is not there. This gives Jax and Nero a few seconds to talk....just enough time for "king Nero" to tell his business partner that he does know about what happened to Darveney and threatening Jax. After the SONS leave the MAYANS kill some of Mark´s crew members.....wow this will stir some s**t up!!

Let´s see how Gemma is doing today....after all this must be a hard day for her today; not only are both of her beloved grandkids missing but also there was Clays funeral (by the end of the article you guys will know that I meant this sarcastic). And in my opinion he got the funeral he deserved: With no one being there but Unser (who is just always around anyways, so he doesn´t really count ;) ), buried on a prison graveyard!

So after Wendy is shipped off to rehab, lets see if Tara is really going to take the deal, that the DA offered her.....she meets up with her lawyer and he assures her, that she will get everything she wanted, but she probably has to testify in court. After Tara thinks about it for a minute, she tells the lawyer, where she is staying and when the DA can pick her and the boys up. A few scenes later we see her still at the park with Thomas and Abel when all of the sudden Jax, Bobby, Happy and Juice show up. The look on Taras face, when she sees her husband is just pure horror, she instantly fears for her life. After Jax tells Happy and Juice to play with the kids and Bobby gives them some distance Jax and Tara sit down and do what they should have done way earlier....the finally TALK. Okay to be fair, Tara does not really have a choice, since she feels threatened by her husband, but still, it´s a start! It would not do this epic scene justice, if I just tell you, what happens, so here is the whole scene for you guys to read:

Jax:”I just need to talk to you. I know you feel like you need to do this, but I can´t let you.”

Tara:”Please don’t hurt me in front of the kids.” (she is so scared of the person she loves)

    Jax:”That’s not what I want.”

Tara:”But that’s all there is. There is no other ending. I have sacrificed everything for you. I tried to see what you see, how you see it but I can´t! All I see are the lies and the violence and how it´s changed you…turned you into a monster. I´ll go if I have to at least I´ve tried  to safe them from becoming what you are.”(she can´t look him into the eyes when she tells him that)

Jax:”I´ve never forced my life on you. You came back to me. You are part of what I am  Tara, you always have been.”

Tara:”That was my mistake, thinking that our love and our bond would be stronger then the history but its not. You are going to break the cycle…I know you mean well Jackson, I feel the pain you life with every day…and now you can damn your sons to that same torture? They will suffer…with you.You have to let me say goodbye to them before you take them from me!”

Jax takes her hand: ”I´m not going to hurt you….I´m not going to hurt them. You don’t have to run…not anymore.”

Tara:”What am I supposed to do?”

Jax:”Just be a good mother. Save OUR boys. Please!”

This scene gave us a glimpse of what made those two so special: They never gave up on each other and somehow the trust in each other was always there! The fans have been waiting for this connection all season long and finally, it was back! To be honest I was kind of shocked, when I realized, that Jax really gave Tara the "ok" to go and "safe" their kids! There is nothing more heroic than putting your own needs behind the things you love the most...in Jax case his children. He knows, that everything, that Tara just told him is the truth and he can no longer hide from that!!
So on a "lighter" note Nero broke up with Gemma, because she (surprise, surprise) could not give up her life in Charming for him. No surprise there kids, I saw this break-up coming...Nero was just WAY to good hearted for Gemma!

Back at Taras hotel, the DA shows up and is caught off guard, when she sees Jax there too. Jax explains to her, that there is a new deal: He will turn himself in for the involvement in the school shooting and only he is going to be charged, not his club. Also Taras will be free of all her charges and be able to go anywhere she wants with their children. Wow, talk of a twist you guys!! Jax just sacrificed himself for his families! Somewhat I felt, like the old Jackson from the earlier seasons was back, the one with a conscience!! And I really liked it. After Tara assures her, that this would be the only deal there is, the DA sets everything in motion. And yet another moment the J/T fans have been waiting for all season long is finally here and I think it´s written perfectly by Kurt Sutter. The big issue between Jax and Tara in season 6 was this inexplicable distance between them.....and this distance is crushed down by Tara, when she realizes, that she got everything she wanted:

There it is....the "I love you!" and the closeness we have been asking for in season 6!! Thank you Kurt Sutter for giving this back to us....even for just a few minutes....

It was one of these quiet moments of the show that make it so special....two persons reuniting, just perfect. But at the same time it was that moment, when I realized that this is SOA and things are moving way to smooth!!
The next scene shows Jax, Bobby and Chibs at the table in their improvised club house. It seems like Jax just filled the two in on the deal and especially Chibs is heartbroken. But both of them understand Jax´s intentions and that there is no other way. In an other twist Jax wants BOBBY to be the next president of the Sons....I was as surprised as Bobby and Chibs....well especially Chibs" The look he gave Jax when he realized that he as the freaking vice-pres would not be able to step up was just, well confused and kind of pissed!
At the end of their little meeting there is just one thing left to do....they need to vote on Juice and his betrayal! Although we don´t actually get to see the decision, the "hate kiss", that Jax gives Juice a few scenes later pretty much explains everything.
How is Old Lady Gemma doing after her pimp broke up with her you ask?! Well....she is miserable: She sits at home, dunk and high, when Unser comes in and brings her up to speed:

"I got a call from Taras lawyer….looking to pull police archives from Charming. They are arresting him.I guess Tara made a deal."

Really Unser?!?! Didn´t they teach you anything in cop school.....you need to have facts and evidence before you can spill stuff like that!! As you can imagine, Gemma is freaking out. After she refuses to be driven by Unser she fakes heart problems, to get rid of him for just a few seconds....just enough time to steal his truck...and I think that everyone knew where she was going....!!
So after Unser realizes that Gemma is probably on his way to Tara´s he figures, it´s a good idea to let Jax know, that she took his truck and he has no idea where she is (again.....REALLY UNSER?!). Juice tells Jax, that he´ll look for Gemma and the truck.
So let´s see how Tara is doing: Eli brings her home and tells her, that he´s glad that everything turned out the way it did.....and I think he speaks for a lot of us;) So after he leaves Tara stands in the living room and is finally able to smile a beautiful smile of relief!!! I loved that scene and it was so great to see her smile again!

But this smile is interrupted by some noise coming from the kitchen....and lets be honest you guys: we knew exactly who would be waiting there!!
So Tara enters the kitchen and finds GEMMA there, they do not even exchange any words....Gemma just right on attacks her with an flat iron when Tara tries to run. A quick and painful fistfight follows and then Gemma holds Taras head underwater (in the freaking kitchen sink) and stabs her with a roast fork!! She downright slaughtered her daughter in law!! After Eli and Juice hear some noise from inside the Teller house, they go in to find a dead Tara on the floor and a confused and shocked Gemma right next to her. Just when Eli wants to call in the murder Juice shoots him in the back!! but not before Eli can tell Gemma, that Tara was not the one who made the deal, but Jax! Wow....this was one hell of a scene...so hard to watch, well so I thought!!!
After saying his goodbyes to the kids and the club members a very emotional Jax is leaving for his home, to say goodbye to Tara. I was praying to every god there is out there, that he was not about to find his dead wife in the kitchen. And everything looked good so far: Jax comes home, takes of his cutt and brings out a casual "Babe?" as he is about to walk into the kitchen. He was just that....a husband coming home to his wife! When he is about to turn the corner, he sees someones (Eli´s) feed and he pulls his gun as he walks into the kitchen.....the rest of the scene is just to horrible for me to write down, so here are some gifs of the more then Emmy worthy performance:

You could feel every single emotion and Paris was right, it sure it the most emotional scene you´ll ever see on tv. I can not imagine, how you can "top" that. What a brilliant writing AND acting job! Wow!!!! Just wow! But what does this mean for Jax? Will S7 be about revenge, his grief or will he turn into someone he never wanted to become??!!Will he be able to get out of prison? So many unanswered questions....we have to wait and see.

Okay so this was the most heart braking episode I ever had to watch....I knew something was going to happen, that would leave us breathless...but this and more precisely, the way it happened?! No way did I see that coming!!

So let everything sink in for a second and do not forget to breath *exhale* *inhale* *repeat* :)

I needed some time to process all of what happened in "A Mothers Work" and I´m still struggling with it. Kurt Sutter has made a bold move, killing of such a beloved character. In this past season there where a lot of "Tara-haters" out there, claiming, that she destroyed Jax´s life by trying to divorce him and taking the kids away from him. Everyone who knows the show must have known, that Sutter would not let Tara do that. So going into the finale, most of us had this feeling, that either Jax would let Tara go (without the kids) or someone, I´m looking at you Gemma, would kill her. Then why am I so shocked that Tara died?! Well, it´s not really the fact that she is not alive anymore that destroys me, it´s the circumstances. After all that she has been threw the last few years and especially this past season I just wished for a quick and "quiet" death. Wow, writing that down really sounds horrible, but I hope you understand;)

As a mother Gemma should have thought of Jax and what he wants for his kids, her grandchildren, first. With Tara´s death and Jax in prison there is no way that Gemma will be able to take care of the children. This murder will come back to haunt her. Don´t get me wrong here.....I still think that she is one bada** woman, who, in her own little world, did everything to pay back her son. But this murder does not have anything to do with being bada** or proving a point; she downright slaughtered an "innocent" woman (Jax´s words). The minute she realized it she got unexpected help from someone I thought would be immune to her poison-esque behaviour: JUICE!!
I was on his side all those seasons....the early ones, where he was this happy go lucky guy, cheering me up in every single episode. Even when he ratted I could not bring myself to hate him, because it was not his fault, he was being blackmailed. He always referred to the club as his "family", how can he just keep on betraying them? I even was on his side, when he told Nero, what Jax made him do to Darveney....because he was not in his right mind when he did it. One could argue, that he is finished with the club after Jax gave him the "You betrayed me" kiss, but for me there is still no explanation for me why in the world he would let Gemma get away with it. There is no way that Jax will not find out who killed his wife and I´m convinced that this is a kind of deed, that Gemma will not be able to life with. When she gave Clay the "okay" to kill John she had someone on her side, who loved her and convinced her, that what she did was right, but now, she is all alone. In my mind there is just no way that I could see Juice and her working together next season. Juice will either be killed by the club or he´ll leave the SONS and so there is just no one left for Gemma.

I thought the episode title "A Mothers Work" is very fitting for the season 6 finale; because the season started with one mother getting everything in line to get her kids out of Charming and it ended with another mother murdering the women she learned to hate, to keep her grandkids in the town she calls home. I think the DA needs to give Gemma the speech, that she gave to Jax in the candy shop, to remind her that the people around her are actual human beings who deserve to have a life beyond the club. She couldn´t understand Dana, when she refused to let Gemma help her and she could not bare the fact that Tara really was the smart one, who after trying to live the club life put all her power in protecting her children!
My only hope for season 7, the last "Sons of Anarchy" season, is that we get to see how all the bad decisions she made come back to haunt Gemma  and eat her up. I can not stand the fact that she never got to bleed for the pain that she has caused others, so the least that Kurt Sutter can do is to let Gemma live in mental pain....the feeling of guilt should eat her up (plus in that way Katey Segal can show off her acting skills even more).

And now to end this blog post, here comes my ode to Maggie Siff/ Tara Knowles-Teller:

Seriously, the Sons of Anarchy family could not have asked for anyone better then her to portray such an amazing character as Tara Knowles-Teller was! From the second she appeared on the screen in season 1 you just knew, that she is one to watch....and so is Maggie. She is blessed with so much talent and you could see it in every single take, how much she just loves her job and her character.
Tara Knowles was this fierce woman, that always seemed to be resistant against the schemes and life that the MC represents. Like she said in this weeks episode, she tried for the sake of her love to Jax, to see it from his perspective, but her conscious ALWAYS won! And I think this is, why Gemma hated her even more then Wendy (and that really has to mean something)......Gemma is a person, who can not understand, how an Old Lady is supposed to have an opinion. She is so focused on the life that she has built for herself, that she somehow forgot how it feels to have your own life. The minute she thought, that she would be all alone, without her son and her grandchildren, she decided to take the one thing her son loved the most:Tara!! Don´t get me wrong I really tried to give her the benefit of a doubt, but what she did to Tara was just too much! Even IF Tara would have made the deal with the DA and would have send Jax to jail, as a mother she should have known, that Jax´s love for Tara was a special one...one that will never die. He already robbed her own son of his father...how could she rob Abel and Thomas of their mum???
The character, that in the beginning of the show no one thought could stick around for long has proven so many people wrong by growing over the years....by trying to fit in for the sake of her husband and her children. Tara always fought for the things that meant the most to her:Jax, Abel and Thomas! When she had to more or less give up on one of them to safe the other two, she lost her last fight. And all of this just because of some snap judgement on Unsers and Gemmas part!
Well at least Maggie Siff was able to put all of her acting talent out there, not just in this episode, but in the entire season! It really was "Tara´s season" and I´m very glad, that I was a part of it! Thank you Maggie for the laughter, the cries, the love and the hate and every emotion in between. Thank you for bringing Tara to life, the way you did and thank you for a hell of a fight! We will miss you!!

So you guys...let´s hear it!

Waiting for the bomb to drop....my thoughts on the S6 finale of "Sons of Anarchy"

I know most of you still have not watched Sons of Anarchy but for those who have, I thought I would let you hear my five cents about this season and what my thoughts are on this weeks finale!

This season was such a bumpy ride for everyone, but the person that really stepped out of the queens (aka. Gemma Teller-Morrow) shadow was Tara Knowles! After her time in prison she was a changed woman....you hear that a lot, but to actually see that is just hard to watch. The brilliant surgeon turned into the woman she hates the most: her mother-in-law!! She faked a pregnancy and a miscarriage to keep her kids Abel and Thomas away from Gemma and even managed to have Wendy on her side.....well at least for the most part. To be honest no one who watches SOA really thought she could get away with it, but the way that Jax found out about her plan was the worst!! First of all this season showed that there is a new "dream team" in town and it´s called Gemma and Nero (should we name them Gero??;) )......those two seem to agree on so many levels and they also seem to really care for each other. For some reason there is a real connection between those two, and it even looks like Nero can keep up with Gemma. I´m just not shure, if this could not end up bad...but let´s wait and see. Anyways with the help of Nero, Jax finds out trough Gemma (who else....she could just not wait to rub it in his face), what Tara did to him, or was planning on doing: divorcing him and also take the kids away from him. No one thought about the fact that, a long time ago this was Jax AND Taras plan (to get their family out of Charming)......oh wait, no! They just talked about it LAST season!!!!!! I can understand, how hurt Jax must have been, being played by the woman he clearly loves (the whole hooker thing...I don´t read too much into it. Don´t get me wrong, I hated what he did, but you can´t take it back now!) but I still don´t know, why he did not talk to her? That was always the key to this relationship, they tried to be as honest as they could with each other.....but somewhere in season 5 this started to fall apart:(

After Tara found out about Jax knowing about her plan, she lived in fear of her own husband and this was the first time my heart broke: The disconnection between Tara and Jax was something I thought I never would have to see! To be honest I was almost 100 percent positive, that Jax would eventually cheat on his wife, because this is just his way to blow off some steam but I never thought, that this couple would have such a huge emotional distance between them. What probably shocked me the most is that Jax did not even TRY to get the connection back. Okay there was this whole talk about how she has not been able to say "I love you" since she has been back from Stockton, but that´s it! Why wouldn´t he take advantage of her fear of him and sit her down to talk?! It´s all just really weird. The only explanation I have for Jax not trying to talk to his wife is, that he was to focused on getting the club out of guns and by this showing her, that he is a man of his word.

Jax ´s goal to get the club out of the weapon business (especially with the Kings) was immensely triggered by the school shooting in the first episode of season 6. It is the first time the club actually SAW and FELT the consequences of their wrong doing. I am very shure, that this shooting will come back to bite Jax and the Sons. There is no way that the DA will just let him and the club walk! Also now that Nero knows the truth about Jax telling Juice to kill Darvany, you can be shure there will be some kind of confrontation......
Speaking of Juice: He is the character that, next to Tara, changed most in the course of this season. Still living with a lot of emotional stress, he tried all season long to earn back the trust of the club and Jax. By letting him kill the boys mother Jax triggered something that he can not stop now......Juice is ready to die and does not seem to care for much anymore. So seeing the preview for next weeks episode, I am not shure how Jax will punish him for his "betrayal". but what betrayal is there really? JAX  was the one, who let him kill Darvany and after that lied to Nero! Jax betrayed Nero!! I have a feeling that for Jax killing Juice would be too easy, because this is exactly what the broken club member wants: to die. My thought is that he will kick him out of the club and leave him with nothing! The MC is Juice´s family and with that gone, he´ll be all alone!
Let´s see what other characters do we have to look out for?? For one there is Wendy, who tried all season long to get close to her son and ruined everything by telling Abel in last weeks episode, that she is his mother......if Jax finds out, she signed her death certificate by blurring out this huge secret. Also I think Unsers time may have come.....it was just kind of odd, how it took him 6 seasons to tell Gemma, that he loves her, weird timing by the way! ;)

So what can we expect from the season 6 finale titled "A Mother´s Work"?!
Knowing Sutter we can expect everything....something tells me, that Bobby will play a huge role in the finale. He did not have the little "Jax always need someone to be around" talk with Tara for nothing, and also his timing to tell her, that the club loves her was not for nothing^^ Maybe if Jax would really have the guts to take a vote on Taras fate, Bobby would be the one to vote "No"......just remember, he has the balls for it.....he did it with Clay too. I´m going to be honest with you guys: If Jax really let´s the club decide to kill or not to kill his own wife, he will be just like the person he hates the most: Clay. I kind of refuse to think, that he will go this route....it would just be too much!

Let´s get to the big elephant in the room.....Tara! What will she do? Will she keep on running and try to hide with the boys as long as she can or will she wait until either her husband or the DA find her? Judging from the released promo pictures (that always throw us off by the way ;) ) Jax and Paterson seem to be in the hotel room, but Tara seems to be gone. My hope is, that Jax tries to find her and convince her to come back.....or at least to give her Abel. It would be kind of ironic if a little hotel room of all things would give them the privacy they need to sort things out.

Also, it´s kind of obvious, that Jax found out what Juice did, so this will be interesting. Will Nero show his crew side and actually try to hurt SAMCRO? I smell an other meeting with Alvarez!! One could think back to season 5 where Jax and Nero had the talk about how close both of them were to get out of this life, for their families sake......this seems so far away now! Nero knew, that he did not wanted to get sucked in into all the weird business that the Sons have with weapons and stuff, but I think in last weeks episode, he realized, that his trust that he gave them and especially Jax, was built on a lie. The wound that this betrayal left is deep and I´m shure Jax will feel that in the season finale!

An other secret, that could come back to haunt Jax in season 7 is, that he still does not know just how deep his own mother is connected to his fathers death. With only Nero, Gemma, Tara and probably Unser knowing about the fact, that Gemma gave her blessing on killing JT and at least one of these people on edge there is a pretty big chance, that he might find out about it. And no one knows what this will trigger in him?!

On one last note, let´s talk about Gemma. She seemed kind of jealous when she realized, that Tara almost outplayed her. And with taking the boys now, she fears, that she may never see "her boys" again! Knowing Gemma, my heart is heavy and I´m kind of scared for Tara......she might be smart, but she also knows if Gemma gets to her first, there is a pretty good chance, that only ONE woman will leave with Abel and Thomas. So let´s hope it does not come to that.

So as you can see there are soo many loose ends and there is so much room for so many cliffhangers that one thing is for shure: We need some very strong nerves for "A Mother´s Work"!!

Let me know about your thoughts on this season and what you think will happen in the season finale!

Better late than never! One of my new obsessions "Sons of Anarchy"

I know, I know, I know I climbed the bandwagon pretty late with Sons of Anarchy already being in it´s 6th season. But I still like to tell you what I like about it and why I think you should at least give it a try. For people, who don´t know me: I usually watch drama shows like > Homeland, Dexter (concluded), Breaking Bad (concluded), Scandal, True Blood or Under the Dome. As you can see they all have something in common: good acting.
I´ve red about Sons of Anarchy (SOA) before and knew that it was about this biker gang story and this is what kept me from watching it. In my mind I couldn´t really imagine what the storyline could be, so I just finished the article and paid no further attention to it. But as you red in one of my "Charlie Hunnam - Christian Grey" posts I just had to give it another try and thank god I did.

So I´ll just give you a quick overview what the show is about and who plays who and then I give you my two cents why I think you should check it out!!

SOA plays in Charming, CA where the motorcycle club is domiciled. The story is constructed around the character Jax Teller

(portrayed as you know by now by my new celebrity crush Charlie Hunnam)who at the beginning of the series is the Vice President of the biker club also known as SAMCRO. He has a problem about the way Clay Morrow

, president of the club (who is also his stepfather) leads the club. Morrow got the club involved in illegal weapon deals and Jax is concerned how long it will take until his stepfathers leadership will get the club into serious trouble. When he finds part of his dead fathers (John Teller) letters Jax realizes, that during his time as club president he was strictly against weapon deals, because he knew once weapons where involved, that deals like durg deals where not that far off and that was something he did not want to have for his club. As Gemma,

Jax´s mother notices a change in her sons behaviour concerning questioning the route SAMCRO is taking she tries everything to tone down his attempts to "sabotage" the Sons. If all of the club business isn´t already enough, Jax has to deal with an junkie ex-wife (Wendy Chase)

who overdoses while pregnant. Their son Abel (love the name by the way) is born way to early and with a heart defect that is soon fixed with the help of yet another one of Jax´s exes: Dr. Tara Knowles.

Those two seem to have a lot of history and this is a clear problem for Gemma in the first few seasons. So another big part of the storyline are the numerous gang related fights with other rivaling gangs like for example The Mayans or "The Irish". And there it comes trough, the violence! At first I have to say it was a little bit of an overkill for me but once you understand that in this world it doesn´t really work like in the "real one" where you try to talk it out. The world that the Sons live in is ruled by violence and intimidation and this is just how it is. I really liked it how the producer Kurt Sutter created the character of Tara as someone that most of the viewers could relate to, at least at the beginning of the first season: she seems to struggle with the way things are handled inside the club and she is not shure, in what extent she can trust Jax. She has a huge problem with the violence and in her book she thinks that no one has to die for something that someone else has done! In Gemma she has someone she can talk to, but knowing that she´s from the "inside" too, you can imagine what happens: nothing really. The only thing that she asks from Jax is that he tells her the truth, and with that she means everything! And this is what she gets and what makes their relationship so special, the trust.

This leads me to one of the main themes that is covered in the show: FAMILY

Not only are the SOA a big family that would do everything (and when I say everything I mean it) for each other but also the Teller family story is very interesting. Other then the rest of the SAMCRO family Jax seems to have some kind of conscience, that is different then the others....not that he has a problem with killing or hurting people, but he has an other view on things than the others, especially as the president Clay. When it comes to his family life you do not see a brutal, calousness man but a loving father who wants to protect his kids from everything bad the club is doing. As you can imagine this is not the easiest task, because family makes him weak and his enemies know that! Also Jax has a very special relationship to his dead father that is intensified thanks to the letters that he reads.....I really don´t want to spoil anything but these letters do not just effect him but also Tara, Gemma, Clay and a bunch of other people. The are some very big secrets in them that a lot of people try to keeps under wraps with a vengance!!

This is what I love about the show:
The way that the characters interact with one another.....there is a clear hierarchy inside the club and everyone knows exaclty what they can and can not do (what doesn´t keep them from trying it ;) ). But when the chips are down they will walk trough fire for each other. The acting job is also incredible! It doesn´t happen very often that you see so many talented people in one place and here it is certanly the case! Me personally, I think it´s way harder to play a bad/ evil character then a "normal" or average person. Not everyone can pull of the tough guy or in Gemmas case the tough woman. Let me tell you a little bit about Gemma: She is portrayed by Katey Sagal who most of you probably know from "Married....with Children" (German: "Eine schrecklich nette Familie") as Peggy Bundy. If you thought Peggy was a tough, selfconfident woman, you have not met Gemma!! That woman is more bad ass than most of the club members! She isn´t really part of the club but actually kind of runs it as the "mother" of the gang. A lot of crazy s*** has happened to her, I dont want to spoil here, but she never once considered to turn her back on her second family. I think this is mainly because a big part of her family will never under any circumstances leave the club: Jax! So she pulls herself together every time and puts herself behind the club and keeps on going.
Another thing that I love is that most of the communication seems to be quiet. As weird as this sounds but there are a lot of scenes where the characters do not say much and just communicate trough vision. Yet again, great acting!!

Kurt Sutter really understands good television the way he tells the stories it makes everything so authentic (which again this would not work without the great actors of the show). He´s not affraid to approach difficult themes, for example all kinds of violence (once you check out a few season you´ll know what I mean). Also Sutter for me is the king of plot twists....before I watched the show I was pretty good in recognizing things before they happened, but with this guy you really never know whats coming. He even has the guts to let fan favourites die, because he feels it will take the story to the next level!! I caught myself more then once screaming out "He did not just do that!" and after the first shock I realized that the producer really knows what he´s doing.

Okay after all this conversation, why this show got ME hooked here are a few thoughts why you should check it out:

- it´s always good to try something new....I did and I´m thankfull ;)
- I hate to tell you again, but the main reason I love the show is just the fact that the acting int his show is amazeballs
- love sarcasm?! WATCH WATCH WATCH
- bikers, leatherjackets, tough guys/bad boys, weapons....kinda sexyyyy ;)
- TATTOO´S
- if you are kind of sick of the predictable story telling and need some action in your life, check it out!
