Star Crossed

Today I´m here to introduce you to a new "CW" show called "Star Crossed"; it´s a sci-fi drama starring: Malese Jow (Vampire Diaries), Aimee Teengarden (90210,Friday Night Lights), Matt Lanter (90210); Grey Damon (Greek, 90210) and many more.

A short over view of what the show is about:

It´s basically about this alien species, the Atrians, that crashed with their spaceship on earth. Of course the humans got it all wrong and thought they were attacked, so they did what they always do....killed almost everyone ;)

Well a few are left and they now get "integrated" into a human life, starting with the local highschool. On their first day you see, how hard it still is for them: In front of their new school are hundreds of protesters who think, that the "kids" and their race are dangerous and should stay where they can not harm anyone. 

Well Roman, who when they landed was a six year old boy who ran away from the humans that where attacking them and was hiding in a shed, and his friends still have to brave the weirdness in their new highschool. 

It turns out, that one of the girls who go to the school, Emery, was the one who found him in the shed and took care of him for a bit. This is until the authorities found the two and shot Roman.....so all this time Emery thought that he was dead. You can imagine her surprise, when she realizes, that one of the Atrians at her school is the little boy, she wanted to protect, when she was little.

Okay, what else....Roman seems to be very different than his friends. Most of them hate the humans and the way they treat them: For example they live in a special sector in an area around the spaceship. They have curfew and are monitored 24/7.

 When one of his friends decides to teach some jerks from highschool a lesson, Roman steps in and can barely prevent a huge fight....well him and the cops, that burst into the party ;)

Let´s see, what else is there to say about Emery?! She has a friend, Julia (Malese Jow, who is the sweetest person I ever met, when I got to see her at "Bloody Con" last year btw), who seems to be really sick, I think she has some sort of cancer! At the end of the first episode .......SPOILER ALERT!!! she is very close to dying. Roman, who followed Emery to the hospital, sees how the condition of her friend destroys Emery. So he uses one of the plants, that they brought from their planet, to cure Julia.

All in all I really enjoyed the pilot, although I´m not that happy with the casting for some of the characters, but maybe they can surprise me ;)

Normally I do not really like sci-fi themed shows, but this one is kind of fresh and cute. I like the chemistry that Emery (awesome name by the way) and Roman have and just can not wait where all of this is going next! Seems like "CW" has a new good show up their sleeve.....at least I hope they can continue the promising storyline!!
